Dear Readers,

We are delighted to announce a new series of articles, “Neglected, Betrayed, and Abandoned,” which will focus on American and forign language films that, for any number of reasons, were mishandled, poorly marketed, or abandoned by their studios, well marketed but unable to find audiences due to their subject matter, genre, provocative ideas, and so on.

You are welcome to suggest titles of such films, of past and present, which we will then revisit, discuss, and review.

The new technologies, new media, and ancillary markets give us plenty of opportunites to see good, worthy movies, which, for whatever reason, failed commercially with the public–despite being supported and embraced by film critics.
