Steven Soderbergh’s male striptease dramedy “Magic Mike” overperformed in a big way ths weekend, grossing $39.2 million.
The well-reviewed film has 79 percent approval by critics across the country, according to the Rotten Tomatoes service.

“Magic Mike,” loosely based on star-producer Channing Tatum’s early days as a stripper, has plenty of reason to celebrate. The Warner picture generated intense interest among females, who made up a whopping 73 percent of the audience.
