No Country for Old MenIn the making-of docu, actor Tommy Lee Jones (who should have been nominated for an Oscar for his Sheriff Bell) describes the movie as both "a horror" film and "a comedy." Others see it as "a noir" or "modern Western," and the fact that different labels and genres are used suggest how richly dense the text and subtext are. It's still my favorite film of 2007, one that clearly shows a new emotional maturity in the Coens' evolving oeuvre.continue > |
