September 12, 2007–”Fay Wray: A Life,” a documentary directed by Rick McKay, helmer of “Broadway: The Golden Age,” follows the friendship between the late actress, who died in 2004, and McKay.

The film will also feature Peter Jackson and Naomi Watts. Jackson and Watts met with Wray before Jackson remade “King Kong,” with Watts reprising Wray's role. Footage of their conversation is included in the docu.

The doc goes into post-production in March of next year at Jackson's New Zealand studio for a 2008 release. New York's Film Forum will celebrate Wray's 100th birthday on September 18 with a program that includes Erich von Stroheim's 1928 film “The Wedding March” and footage from McKay's documentary.
