Mottola, Greg: Writer-Director

GREG MOTTOLA (Writer, Director) is the writer/director of the upcoming comedy, ADVENTURELAND, which will be released on March 27, 2009 by Miramax. Mottola most recently directed the hit summer comedy “Superbad.” He was also the writer and director of the movie “The Daytrippers” (1997), starring Hope Davis, Parker Posey, Liev Schreiber, Anne Meara, Campbell Scott and Stanley Tucci. “The Daytrippers” was chosen for the Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, and it was awarded the audience and jury prizes at the Deauville Festival of American Films.

Mottola also worked with Judd Apatow (who produced “Superbad”) and Seth Rogen (who cowrote “Superbad”) directing several episodes of the Fox television show “Undeclared.” He has also directed episodes of “Arrested Development” and HBO's “The Comeback.”


Mottola attended graduate film school at Columbia University, where he studied with Sidney Lumet, David Mamet and George Roy Hill. He has also acted in the Woody Allen movies “Celebrity” and “Hollywood Ending.” He hopes some day to have a better bio.
