Released during the height of the disaster-thriller cycle of the early1970s, Robert Wise’s “The Andromeda Strain” is based on Michael Crichton’s popular novel, which concerns a killer virus from outer space that falls onto Earth, hitting a small and remote desert town.
The ensemble consists of Arthur Hill, David Wayne, James Olson and Kate Reid, but it’s not a movie about acting—or characterization.
