Booster: Premieres at SXSW
| When Simon’s (NICO STONE) brother is arrested for armed robbery, he is asked to commit a string of similar crimes in an attempt to get his brother acquitted. Caught between loyalty to his brother and his own will, Simon is forced to examine his life.Set in Boston’s criminal underworld, BOOSTER distinguishes itself with its honest portrayal of the hardships associated with a marginalized life. Director Matt Ruskin cast non-actors who were familiar with this environment to add a layer of authenticity and relevance to the film.BOOSTER is a 2011 Independent Filmmaker Lab participant and is written and directed by Matt Ruskin. The cast includes Nico Stone, Adam Du Paul, Kristin Dougherty, and veteran actor Seymour Cassel. The film is produced by Andrea Roa and Ruskin. Executive Producer is Troy Johanson. Tim Gillis is the Cinematographer and Farley Crawford is production designer. Original music is by Alex Lasarenko and editing is by Matt Ruskin. |
